Business Systems Analyst
POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be supporting AppleCare's team of SQL programmers and .Net developers. Gathering and documenting project requirements. Attending meetings . Developing test scenarios and testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.
Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Experience with Visio, Microsoft Office products, Crystal Reports, Some experience with SQL programming.
Level of Education:
BS degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience
Professional Certification or License
Valid California Drivers license and insurance
Level of Experience
Greater than 3 years experience in managed care environment
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Claims Processing
Knowledge of training and audit principles and processes.
Knowledge of and experience with medical coding
Knowledge of general IPA operations
Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Self motivated with strong organizational skills.
Ability to look at challenges as opportunities.
Flexible and adaptable of schedule to attend various meetings and/or promotional events.
Ability to read quickly with excellent comprehension and retention.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
