Manager, Demand & Production Planning


The Manager, Supply Chain Planning will lead the development and implementation of strategies to support the business plan. The individual will be responsible for demand planning, capacity planning and production planning and will drive to develop capabilities and initiatives that will enhance supply chain performance over a multi-year horizon.
The Manager, Supply Chain Planning leads and manages all planning activities including the Sales &Operations Planning (S&OP) process through demand management, capacity utilization, production plans, and inventory management. The individual will be accountability for financial, service, and KPI metrics in the supply chain.
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Planning is the Clerk, Supply Chain.
Key Job Responsibilities
Develop and measure KPIs for the areas of responsibility.
Ensure effective forecasting, master planning, and finite scheduling to optimize cost and service level performance.
Develop monthly and weekly production plans to optimize product costs by reducing change-overs and scheduling economic production runs.
Plan and control all scheduling activities by balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support consistent 99.7% customer service levels, inventory turn goals, and capacity utilization/staffing requirements.
Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (KPI's forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets)
Lead monthly S&OP meetings and track forecast accuracy. Develop finished goods inventory plan by month and annually based on S&OP volumes and business plans.
Ensure warehouse capacity is available for ingredients, packaging and finished goods. Evaluate and inform when outside storage is required to optimize costs.
Review existing supply chain processes and performance and make recommendations for improvements as required.
Provide routine reports, variance analysis, and special analysis and recommend corrective action as required.
Prevent / reduce out of stock situations, watching for trends impacting forecasting needs or marketing changes impacting forecasting requirements.
Work closely with purchasing to coordinate materials to support the production schedule.




Skills and Experiences
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or equivalent, APICS certification

Experiences:
This individual can demonstrate understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), inventory management, capacity planning, and production scheduling. The role will include reporting, tracking, and improving plan attainment.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Master Planning position with progressive increases in responsibilities.
Food industry experience is preferred
Highly computer literate, including extensive knowledge of Excel
