PHP Developer
We are hiring a PHP Developer for a Contract position in Buena Park, CAJob Title: Web Developer
Summary Statement:
Under the general direction of the IT Director, and under the project management of YMIA, the Web developer is dedicated to engineering the company's e-commerce, web based initiatives. The developer will be focused on the design and development of front & back-end web-based projects including feature additions to existing sites and future systems developed from scratch. Although not an architect, the PHP Web developer will design web-based solutions using industry-standard methodology through project's conception and implementation.
Essential Job Functions:
Percent of Time Tasks
Application development
- Review and understand stakeholder's requirements
- System design to support requirements
- System development with modern web development frame work and development process
- Prepare necessary pre/post project documentation
- Provide periodic project status reporting
- Rich communication with Project Manager
- Keep good relationship and communicate effectively with a wide variety of Internal Yamaha staff
- Propose good solutions to supervisor and relevant staff if necessary
- Continue personal professional development in areas such as application design and development, via self-training, investigation and conferences.
- Work in Sprint teams applying Agile/Scrum methodologies
Qualifications/Competencies - Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- BA or BS in Computer Information Sciences or equivalent work experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience managing application development using development tools, servers and technologies needed for professional e-commerce environments such as:
o PHP5
o Web Services (using different PHP libraries a plus)
o Object oriented design, programming
o Relational Database (Postgres is a plus)
o UNIX environment
o XML
o Presentation technologies (Smarty, XSL a plus)
o Working knowledge about E-commerce payment solution (CyberSource, TrustCommerce, all pluses)
o Basic understanding multiple latest mobile platforms/PC OS/browsers
o Apple iOS, iTunes for iOS App service, Android
o Microsoft, Apple, Linux, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, IE
o Agile/Scrum method

Abilities:
- Ability to communicate status/problems to appropriate personnel effectively;
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical staff and with non-technical managers and staff.
